So the other day a friend of mines (shout out to MrCapcom!!!) invited me to a SF4 tourney that a friend of his was having. The prize.... $50 & bragging rights. The cost....$Free.99!!! Why? Cuz the host was so confident that he put up his own $50! Over all it was a GREAT TIME! There was a bunch of people there of various skill levels. My first fight I chose my usual main Balrog, which received a mixed reaction from the crowd. It seemed like 1/2 were thinking "he picked Balrog.... oh he must be a scrub", & the other half were thinking "he picked Balrog! Oh he must be a pro!". LOL! This made me nervous cuz the truth is some where in between. I do have madd skillz with Rog....but until that night I had not played SF4 in about 4 or 5 months. So I was crazy rusty and my timing was off on my advanced combos. Still I held my own with basic strategy.
Ran through the first 2 rounds fairly easily, as did MrCapcom. However in the 3rd round I was up against the host....who is one of the best Gen players Ive ever seen on SF4. Needless to say I got pwned! As did everyone else! (MrCapcom lost in the 3rd round too) LOL! And the host went on to win the Tourney in the end. After wards we played some good old arcade style winner-keeps-playing matches. I went on a good 4 or 5 winning streak! Which made me feel better about loosing in the 3rd round of the Tourney. LOL
Cant wait until some one has another. Im thinking of hosting one myself. Any way here is video of me getting PWNED by Will the champ. (Ironically enough my name is Will too & I used to be a pro with Gen on the Alpha series. LOL) Sadly they did not youtube any of my victories. : - ( But I'll swallow my pride and post this any way. LOL!
